About

about me.

I am a professional make-up artist based in Chicago, IL. I work with photographers, designers, models, artists and bridal parties. I also have experience with film/TV, music videos, theatre and fashion shows.

From an early age, I was fascinated by the industry.  I have always been a very creative and artistic person and had a keen eye and sense for the arts.  Musically, I played instruments and sang "by ear" and "by feelings."  Artistically, I experimented with colors and methods and saw things "outside the box."  As a young adult in the workforce, coworkers were always anxious to see me the next day because my hair and makeup would be fashioned differently than the day before.  Always experimenting, always different.  Having the knack for style and makeup, people started coming to me either for advise or they wanted me to do their hair or makeup.  It wasn't until the last decade that I really looked into doing makeup professionally.  Highly motivated, I got certified as a high-definition airbrush makeup artist, and started freelancing.  Being in the modeling world, I started volunteering to be the makeup artist at modeling photoshoots.  As word got out that I did makeup, I started getting calls for special events, birthday parties, and weddings.  Meanwhile, working as an Independant Contractor in experiential marketing, I started to work more beauty-related events.  As a result, I have represented many brands.  Among the beauty brands I've used and promoted were Bare Minerals, L'Oreal, Nexxus, Jeunesse, and Motives.

I am a constant student of beauty.  Everywhere I am, anywhere I look, there is always something to learn, something to see, something to research, something to watch, something to try, some process to learn, some class to take, some technique to master.  The world is always changing, preferences are broad, and I need to be adaptable and ready to deliver.

As a young child I was always fascinated by the world of fashion & beauty, and while my peers were busy hanging out at the mall, I was more likely to be found with my head in glossy magazines reading about famous designers, models and make-up artists, and the latest trends and techniques. As the years went by, my love of the fashion and beauty industry grew deeper. I come from the era of original Super Models with Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, Paulina Porizkova, Christie Brinkley, Iman, Elle McPherson, Carol Alt, Kim Alexis, and Cindy Crawford.  Kim Alexis and Cindy Crawford was with Elite Model Management.  I followed them so much that I signed up with Elite's younger modeling branch in Chicago and learned the ropes of being a model and all that comes with it from makeup application to on screen slating.  I then became a Model Scout for eModels of which Kim Alexis was one of the Board Members to.  Later on, I became a Talent Director for a modeling school and Royal Model Management in Chicago.

The way I work with people on my services as a Makeup Artist is the same way I am with music and colors...out of the box...and from the heart.  In music, what leads each note is inspiration.  Inspiration emotes and therefore the notes played transcends into a song that follows emotions and when replayed back to the viewers or listeners, it is moving.  Each day, emotions change.  Each moment.  Same with colors and people.  Everyone's needs are different.  Everyone's physical structure is different.  Each person should have a unique and wonderful story.  Your special day should not be a "cookie-cutter" re-tell of another's story.  You are special.  Let us help.
